Transportation facilities and systems are among the largest and most
ubiquitous features of the built environment. Well-designed they
can enhance daily life; poorly planned and designed, streets and
highways can have devastating impacts on neighborhood character,
safety and environmental quality.
The design of transportation facilities and transportation-oriented urban design is a primary focus of our practice. Working with public agencies and transportation engineers, our projects range from earliest alignment and feasibility studies through design and construction-phase services for light rail, commuter/heavy rail, bus, pedestrian and bicycle facilities and traffic calming. We also have broad experience in planning and design for transit-oriented development.
